How much does a tattoo/piercing cost?

Tattoos are have a minimum of $60 and are priced at $150/hr. The larger and more detailed the design, the more expensive it will be. We are unable to give quotes for tattoos over the phone. The best way to get an accurate quote is to walk in or set up a consultation with an artist. Piercings are around $40 per piercing depending on placement, plus the cost of jewelry ($25 & Up). Our prices do not include aftercare or gratuity.

How old do I have to be to get a piercing or tattoo?

All clients must have a valid ID to get anything done. Any person under 18 must also have notarized consent by a parent or guardian. For piercing you can find the form here and for tattoos you can find the form here. Florida state law requires any person getting tattooed to be at least 16 years old and have some sort of identification with a picture, birth date and legal full name proving as much.

Does it hurt?

All body modification practices do include some amount of pain. Pain is very subjective and everyone feels it differently. Expect some level of discomfort during a procedure but remember it is temporary!

Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are not required but are preferred. We do our best to accommodate walk ins but without an appointment, you may have to wait for the next available artist. For tattoos, a nonrefundable deposits (that come off the final price of the finished piece) determined by the artist must be made to hold appointments. All no call/no show appointments forfeit their deposit.

What kind of body jewelry do you use/sell?

Our studio has the largest jewelry stock in Sarasota and its surrounding areas. We only stock the best quality jewelry for our clients. From implant grade titanium, niobium, nickle free 14k and 18k gold, stainless steel. All internally threaded. Organic materials for stretched piercings such as bone, horn, exotic woods, stones and glass. We currently carry high end brands like Anatometal, LeRoi, Body Gems, Body Visions Las Angeles (BVLA), Invictus, Tawapa, Diablo Organics, Oracle and more!

I'm on vacation. What can't I do with a fresh piercing or tattoo?

Fresh tattoos and piercing should not be submerged in large bodies of water for 2 weeks - 4weeks (ie pools, hot tubs, the ocean), so no swimming. Avoid getting sand and sunscreen in the fresh wound by not going to the beach. Fresh tattoos should be covered from direct sunlight while healing.

What Do I Need to Get My Minor Child Pierced?

  1. Call Z-Edge & Make An Appointment. We prefer to have 2 piercers on hand to pierce ears at the same exact time. We can only do this if you make an appointment with Z-Edge.

  2. An infant must be 6 months old in order to get their ears pierced

  3. Ear piercings on a child 6 months - 5 years old are only made on certain days.

  4. You MUST have a parental permission form NOTARIZED. Yes, even if you are the mother/father. It does not matter what your relation is to the child. Florida State law states that any minor getting pierced must have a notarized permission form. You can download that form here
